MTC.....

On their way to the MTC.  You could tell my Dad was like a little kid on Christmas Eve and my mom was like a little kid waiting to go to the dentist.  HAHA...she was a little nervous about the whole thing, but excited as well.  Everyone was doing ok until they backed out of the driveway and I yelled to the kids to come to the front door to wave goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa....things got a little emotional for everyone.

See ya soon!!!

Little did we know that when we said goodbye that morning we would see them later that evening.  HAHA.  Apparently  things are a little different for couple missionaries.  They were allowed to leave after their days classes. So they came to our Memorial Day BBQ and we got to say goodbye again.  We also found out we get to take them to the airport on Saturday morning....bright and early, their flight leaves at 8:30.  So we will bid a fond farewell knowing that it will be a little while before we see them again....their might be a few more tears shed this time, I'll keep ya posted ;)

Farewell....

Since we don't call them "farewells" anymore it's just an opportunity to speak in Sacrament Meeting before you leave on your mission.  And my parents didn't even really have to speak the Bishop just asked them to bear their testimonies. Sarah and I decided to surprise my parents by driving to Vegas for their "farewell".  Neither of us told them we were coming and so the look on their faces when we walked into the chapel was priceless. It was a wonderful meeting and my parents both did great.  After the meeting we all went to their bare house that was pretty much all packed up for some yummy food April had made for us:
The "original" Anderson Clan
Denise, Dennis, Sarah, Paul, Marsha

Sarah, Mom, Dad, Cameron and Miles
Grandma and Grandpa with 4 of the 5 Ashworth boys.  Tyler had finals and had to stay in Utah.
Paul and April's family

Everyone hanging out in the bare house

The whole group after the setting apart by the Stake President.
What a great experience that was.  I'm so thankful we were able to be a part of it.

Hello....

So we all debated how to keep everyone informed of the happenings on the mission. We decided a blog would be a fun way but since Mom isn't the most "tech savvy" person, I, Denise, offered to make them a blog...with Sarah's help of course...she made it look pretty :)

With that being said I will write in the first person as opposed to try to pretend like I am my parents speaking.  I will include letters and posts directly from them too and who knows maybe by the end of 2 years Mom will know how to do a blog entry ;)  don't get your hopes up but miracles happen. I will sign my name at the end of posts I write and put my parents names at the end of ones that are directly from them.  Please share the info of this blog with any of my parents friends that would like to keep updated on their progress.

We are all excited for the wonderful experiences they will have and know that even though we will miss them they will touch the lives of many people on their mission....and hopefully we will be able to visit :)
